The breathtakingly unique miss Lana Del Rey is at it again. The singer-songwriter’s newest album, Honeymoon, is set to drop September 18th; the anticipation has her thousands of fans itching to get their Lana-loving hands on it. The artist announced her new record via Instagram on August 14th by posting a picture of a billboard with an image of her on it, captioned “September 18”. The billboard in the photo is located in San Francisco, California above a 50’s style diner named “Mel’s Drive-In”. The newest album promises, although different, to top her 2014 her record Ultraviolence.
Del Rey recently told Zane Lowe on Beats 1 radio that her newest single “High By The Beach” (which she just released a video for) “is a little like a hip-hop record. It started with the chorus.” She confessed, “I was driving by the beach a lot. This was probably one of the last ones on the record… Even with the harmonies, it almost sounded monotone. But with the beat, it has this trap influence.” The young singer went on to say, “I always want to take advantage of feeling inspired because you don’t feel that way all the time. The jumping-off point was the end of the other one. I wasn’t feeling too tired, still feeling inspired like I could keep going.”
Lana Del Rey, otherwise known as Elizabeth Woolridge Grant, or formerly named “Lizzy Grant” has been making music for almost a decade but didn’t really catch the eye of the general public until her 2012 record Born To Die. Since then,
the artist has released 3 hit albums and an EP, traveled all over the world touring, and accumulated hundreds of thousands of adoring fans. Recently, Del Rey has announced that she will be featured on The Weekend’s up and coming album, Beauty Behind The Madness, and released her title track “Honeymoon.”
No matter what the newest album holds, we cant wait to hear it!
