Texas Revolution Fest is an all day event for metal fans to enjoy bands including He Is Legend, ’68, Sleepwave, and The Ongoing Concept. Headlining the show is The Dillinger Escape Plan, a progressive metal band currently signed to Sumerian Records. After forming in 1997, the band quickly rose to success and has since been named “one of the most important bands to have emerged over the last decade.” Their fifth studio album, One of Us Is the Killer, received high international reviews and landed as #1 on the US Top Hard Rock Albums on Billboard. The punishing sound of this record is said to deliver to a listener’s gut rather than head, making the album a “different kind of weapon” for fans.
Adding to the lineup is Madball, a hardcore punk band originating in the early 1980s. The band carries rage and rebellion in their work and are known for their capturing lyrics. The group’s most recent album, Hardcore Lives, was just released in 2014 and solidifies their authority as mentors to the next generation of heavy bands. With an enormous following, Madball has had an impact on sound, aesthetic, and culture on metal groups of all types.
With the impressive lineup Texas Revolution Fest has to offer, metal enthusiasts can experience old and new bands rising to the scene. Featuring over twenty acts, this event guarantees a killer show to match chaotic head-banging crowds.
