Swedish black metal band Watain released its November tour dates after a successful co-headlining tour with Mayhem, perhaps the most notorious band in black metal history, in January 2015. Featuring Mayhem and Rotting Christ, the tour will support Watain’s fifth full-length album, The Wild Hunt. The second part of the Black Metal Warfare’s tour is the final US circuit for the critically acclaimed album that was unleashed in 2013.
Watain frontman and vocalist ocalist Erik Danielsson shares:
As with every album tour, it is always towards the end that the all the ingredients of our performances melt together properly and become most powerful. The Black Metal Warfare tour was a very special project for us and I am very pleased we get to end our Wild Hunt in the US with this second leg, with such a legendary package and in front of our ever faithful US militias! While Black Metal Warfare part II is of course a continuation of the first one, quite a few surprises can be expected, both in terms of the setlists as well as on the stage itself. All that is certain is that November shall wail and reek of burning, blistering, banging, bloody Black Metal War! A victorious ending before it’s time to yet again embark on the ever winding paths into the great unknown…
After the infamous Mayhem, often marked for its violent stage performance, released a new track last year and Watain shared a “real and extreme” new music video, the two bands will kick off the second leg of the North American tour in New Orleans in early November.
Check to see if the iconic Watain and Mayhem are coming to a city near you.
