LISTEN: Ryan Adams Covers Taylor Swift’s “All You Had To Do Was Stay” And “Out Of The Woods”

Ryan Adams announced he is covering Taylor Swift’s 1989 LP. Adams is fast at work on the final product. His Twitter and Instagram account show previewed snippets of his reworked “Out of the Woods” and “All You Had to Do Was Stay”. The alternative musician has made some renditions to the original songs by making spooky version of “Shake It Off” with Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire” and “Out of the Woods” with The Smiths “That Joke Isn’t Funny Anymore”. Adams only has ten more songs to go before he completes the entire track listing of Taylor Swifts fifth album.

Adams told fans who follow the musician on Instagram and Twitter that he’s recording a full-album cover of Taylor Swift’s 1989. Someone tipped off Swift, who tweeted a reply expressing her excitement.

Adams says in Rolling Stone article that he plans on mixing the songs on the album with that of songs from The Smiths, an English Indie Rock band from the late 1980s. The musician’s Instagram post showed pictures of “Blank Space” lyrics and the musician noting that his version will have a “deep end Smiths vibe.” Morrissey recently shared some harsh words for Swift’s presence at the Brit Awards and so far fans of The Smiths have yet to respond to Ryan Adams on Instagram or Twitter.
