Fear Factory released a new video for their single “Dielectric.” The band’s single “Dielectric” follows on the heels of the band’s recently released tracks “Protomech” and “Soul Hacker.” The clip was filmed with director Ramon Boutviseth, who also worked on music videos for bands Trivium, Nonpoint, Darkest Hour, Incubus and All That Remains. Fear Factory’s single “Dielectric” comes from their new album Genexus, which came out today. Genexus is follow-up to 2012’s The Industrialist. The new album can be streamed in its entirety using the YouTube playlist below. Fear Factory is currently on the road with Coal Chamber, Jasta, Devil You Know, Saint Ridley and Madlife. The Genexus album was produced by vocalist Burton C. Bell and guitarist Dino Cazares, with co-production help by longtime collaborator Rhys Fulber. Though former Static-X and Soulfly bassist Tony Campos recently joined the band, Cazares handled bass parts on the album. Drums on the album were handled by Mike Heller.
“It’s still just to be who we are. We are ‘cyber metal,’ whatever you wanna call it, but it’s still a lot of the killer riffs, killer double bass, Burt’s beautiful, melodic vocals. Conceptually, it’s always still futuristic, man-versus-machine type of thing, but, you know, we thought we’re gonna keep it real, keep it what we are and who we are,” said Cazares on Genexus
Are we man or are we machine? The video powers through the question of what drives us forward and what makes us move and breathe. The video initially starts off with viewers being taken through what appears to be very Matrix-like elevator shaft, but as we get deeper into the nuts and bolts, we find the members of Fear Factory powering the whole thing and learn form the video that a human side is what powers us all.
