Fresh off their weekend performance at the August Radio 104.5 Summer Block Party, Wolf Alice have announced their much anticipated return. And the good news for fans is that you won’t have to wait that long. The band will hit the stage at The Troc at the end of September. And tickets for the event go on sale this Friday, August 7th at noon. (Which is the same time tickets for next month’s free 104.5 Block Party drop). The upcoming show is part of the radio station’s immensely popular $10.45 shows, so be sure to grab your tickets before they sell out.
The London quartet have had a very successful year, having been named Best Breakthrough Artists at the UK Festival Awards and one of iTunes Artists for 2014. They were also the number 4 most blogged artist on Hype Machine that year. And this was all prior to the release of their debut studio album, My Love is Cool, which was released on June 22nd of this year. And tracks like “Moaning Lisa Smile” have been receiving heavy radio rotation here in Philly (thanks in large part to 104.5).
In speaking on the album, lead singer Ellie Rowsell said, “You go through every single day feeling different things all the time. So, if an album reflects life, shouldn’t it mirror all those extremes? If you read a collection of short stories, you don’t want them to be simply about the same people or topics. You want to follow sadness with happiness to feel better. It should be the same for music.” Take a listen for yourself here, and be sure to grab tickets to their upcoming Trocadero show.
