In lieu of his impending fatherhood, Chance the Rapper will be kicking-off a brand new tour this Fall, appropriately-titled: Family Matters Tour. The trek will run from mid-October through late-November across North America.
Citing a handful of accomplishments, including: a collaborative project with Kanye West, his own festival, and his own beer, it appears the still relative-newcomer now seeks his own headlining tour to celebrate the upcoming arrival of his first child. Chance and his fellow band of misfits: The Social Experiment will primarily showcase an onslaught of new material fresh off his summer-release, Surf.
Best-known for first hitting the hip-hop scene with his ever-enjoyable mix-tape, Acid Rap in 2013, Chance is uniquely defining himself as a force to be reckon with. His eclectic sound bursts within the realms of jazz and psychedelic-influences that can best be seen in his short film, “Sunday Candy.”
Hailing from Chicago’s more-prominent neighborhood, Chatham, Chance (known as Chancellor Bennett to his family) embarks on this new tour directly in-stride with a slew of featured guests and performers. Those guests include openers, D.R.A.M., Metro Boomin, and Towkio. As no stranger to collaboration on his new record, Surf, Chance turned to fellow group-members The Social Experiment and Donnie Trumpet for creative-inspiration and guidance.
The tour offers exclusive VIP packages at select venues, splitting into two categories for fans who want to get what they pay for. Under the themes of the experience, the “Friends”VIP Pass allows early access and a special meet-&-greet with the artist; the “Family”VIP Pass offers a personalized soundcheck and viewing area for fans.
