Janelle Monáe is bringing her Wondaland Records crew out on a special tour this August. The Eephus Tour will travel to eight locations for “secret” free shows. Attendees will be treated to Monáe herself, along with every act on the Wondaland roster. For those not in the know, the Wondaland roster consists of Jidenna, Deep Cotton, St. Beauty, and Roman GianArthur. All of whom will appear on stage here in Philly for the first night of the 8-part tour. The Philly date is August 12th. The only question now is where exactly this event will take place. For those interested in attending, you will definitely want to sign up here for your chance to get an invite to this highly antipated event. Those who receive one of the coveted tickets will be notified via email 24 hours before the event.
In addition to Philly, the Wondaland family will also be making stops in New York, DC, Chicago, LA, San Francisco, Portland, and Atlanta. Fans have long been in tune with Janelle Monáe’s dynamic stage presence. And with her current hit “Yoga,” Monáe is at the top of her game. Rising talent Jidenna, who features on “Yoga” is responsible for the irresistible track “Classic Man,” which also got some rework from hip-hop heavyweight Kendrick Lamar. As for the rest of the Wondaland family, we’ll get a chance to see Roman GianArthur, the singer/songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who, according to the event’s press release, “will deliver incendiary guitar fireworks along with his signature soulful, striking vocals. Then there’s Deep Cotton, which consists of Chuck Lightning and Nate “Rocket” Wonder whose funk “incorporates just the right amount of “rock ‘n’ roll and hip-hop.” And finally, the lovely ladies of St. Beauty will surely wow the crowd with their vocal talents.
