California rockers Faith No More released a live music video of their song, “Superhero,” which was shot on May 8th, 2015, at The Fillmore in Detroit, Michigan.

This video for “Superhero” features multiple camera angles to highlight members of the band, but largely centers in on Faith No More’s vocalist Mike Patton, who captivated the live audience – and, now, the viewers at home – with his energy and stage presence.

“Superhero” originates on the band’s most recent album, Sol Invictus, which was Faith No More’s long-awaited follow up to their 1997 release, Album of the Year. After being released in mid-May, Blabbermouth reports that this latest album sold some “31,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 14 on The Billboard 200 chart (which includes stream activity). The CD, which was released on May 19 via the band’s newly formed imprint Reclamation Recordings, which is distributed by Ipecac Recordings, also landed at No. 2 in Australia, No. 4 in Germany and No. 6 in the U.K.”

“What this tells me,” said Faith No More founder and bass player Bill Gould said in a press statement, “is that there is a need out there; people want to hear things that exist outside the mold. It makes me feel grateful and it gives me hope.”

In the months of April and May, leading up to the release of Sol Invictus, Faith No More were very busy. First, the band announced that they were teaming up with Refuse for short tour that is happening in August; next, they performed the then-upcoming album’s title track and “From the Dead,” another song; premiered new song at their concert Los Angeles, and that same show also allegedly featured a guest appearance by an incognito Duff McKagan. But, if that wasn’t enough, Faith No More announced plans to reissue their two best selling records – 1989’s The Real Thing and 1992’s Angel Dust – with bonus discs that are packed with series of rarities and b-sides; and went on to stream a concert live via Yahoo.

Now, looking ahead at the fall, Faith No More is touring in North America and South America. First, the band will play a series of East Coast concerts, before heading up to Canada for a concert in Toronto, Ontario; then, they will travel into the neighboring province of Québec to play at Heavy Montréal, this August. For, Faith No More fans in the States, the band will be performing at number of festivals, including at Riot Fest & Carnival, which runs from September 11-13th, 2015. This year’s event is taking place in Chicago at Douglas Park. Then, the group will head to South America for concerts in Costa Rica, Columbia, Argentina, Brazil – including, a performance at Rock In Rio – and Chile. But, in October, the band will return to the States to play at the fourth annual Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, Calif., which will wrap up their fall tour.
