Josh Abbott Band is a country music group from Lubbock, Texas. Vocalist Josh Abbott started the band back while attending college. Recruiting his former fraternity brothers, the singer decided to pursue a full time career in music. The band then released their first album, Scapegoat, and continued their rise in the country music scene.
In 2010, the band released their hit record She’s Like Texas. The album entered the Top Country Albums chart and placed as #5 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums list. The record was given four out of five stars, which later led to the group’s first sold out show at the World’s Largest Honky Tonk “Billy Bob’s Texas.” Now with three studio albums, the band has climbed to success as a country favorite nationwide.
This six-man band has been featured on the large stages of events such as New York’s Taste of Country Music Festival. “For me, the goal is for us to be able to not just maintain, but consistently get bigger,” Abbott says about the band. “I feel like Texas has really done well for us, but I’ll never be satisfied.” With the endless hard work given by the group, listeners can always look forward to a mature sound and passionate lyrics with their music.
