Electro-rock band Puscifer has set to release their third full-length album, Money Shot, on Oct. 30 via Puscifer Entertainment. The album will feature 10 tracks and focus on the band’s embracing of creativity.
Puscifer, formed by Maynard James Keenan in 1995, has released two studio albums within the past eight years. Now, upon the band’s return, Keenan has worked with more than a handful of talents to create a product he says is “above and beyond the initial ideas.”
Co-produced by the band’s guitar player Mat Mitchell, with help from band member Carina Round, the album is a mix of influences and styles of which Keenan says he’s proud.
Further contributions to the album come from the rest of Puscifier: Tim Alexander, Juliette Commagere, Jeff Friedl, Matt McJunkins, Jon Theodore, and the son of Keenan himself, Devo Keenan.
The first sounds and sights from Money Shot can be found in the release of the music video, via Rolling Stone, for a new track called “Grand Canyon.” The video was directed by Adam Rothlein.
Aptly named, the video begins with visions of a desert sunsets, accompanied by soothing guitar. Keenan’s voice then begins to sing and almost melodically chant about “standing on the edge of forever.” Soon joined by singer Round, the two continue to sing about “witnessing the majesty of nature,” of which is the only thing we see images.
Throughout the song, we continue to see beautiful images of cacti, trees, canyons, flowers, and other foliage. With nature’s power being the prominent theme of the track, human activity is only seen within the last 30 seconds.
