Members of The Clash, Roxy Music and Afrobeat Form New Supergroup

Members for The Clash, Roxy Music, and Afrobeat have come together to form a new supergroup. The group will make their debut on August 22 at La Notte della Taranta in Salento, Italy.

According to Consequence of Sound, the official supergroup consists of guitarist Phil Manzanera from Roxy Music, bassist Paul Simonon from The Clash, Tony Allen of Afrobeat, Andrea Echeverri from Aterciopelados, and Anna Phoebe from Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Currently no official name for the supergroup has been revealed. Additionally, there is no reports confirming if this new group will be each members main focus or act more as a side project.

Phil Manzanera was recently in the news concerning a conflict with Jay-Z and Kanye West. The duo allegedly owes Manzanera money for sampling his 1978 track “K-Scope” in their 2011 single “No Church in the Wild.” Neither party has confirmed if a resolution was reached.
