Marina Lambrini Diamandis, better known by her stage name Marina and the Diamonds, is a singer-songwriter from Wales. She sang in choir productions as a child and was once ranked second on BBC’s Sound of 2010 poll. Today, Diamandis combines an indie pop sound with electronic elements and new wave music styles in her work.
Her debut album, The Family Jewels, placed as number five on the UK Album Chart. The success of her single “Hollywood” became her breakthrough as an artist in Europe. However, it was her song “Primadonna” which gained Diamandis international recognition as it reached Platinum certification across multiple countries.
Diamandis’ third studio album, Froot, was released in March of 2015. The singer wrote and recorded each track by herself, which led the record to place in the top ten on the US Billboard 200 chart. Critics praise Diamandis for her strong vocal delivery and cohesive production of her music. Now as a global success, Marina and the Diamonds will prepare to tour Europe and North America to celebrate this new record.
