Australian duo Big Scary will be performing at the Lyric Theatre on September 12. The group consists of Tom Iansek and Joanna Syme who have been working together since 2006. The show is part of the FYF Sideshows going on in July and August leading up to the FYF Fest taking place from August 22 to August 23 at the Los Angeles State Historic Park in Chinatown.
Big Scary has released two studio albums: Vacation in 2011 and Not Art in 2013. The album Not Art was nominated for the triple j Australian Album of the Year award, AIR Awards Best Independent Album and also for Best Independent Release at the ARIAs. Not Art won the 2014 Australian Music Prize, winning the band $30,000. Big Scary is currently working on its third album. Enjoy their music video for “Twin Rivers” below:
