Bring Me The Horizon Announce New Album That’s The Spirit For September 2015 Release

British rock band Bring Me The Horizon have announced that their forthcoming album, That’s the Spirit, will be released on September 11.

The 11-track album will be the group’s fifth studio release, following 2013’s Sempiternal. It is currently available for pre-order on iTunes. Lead singer Oli Sykes described the album as “a celebration of depression,” which makes it ironic that the first single from That’s the Spirit is called “Happy Song.” The track begins with heavy guitar and upbeat chanting voices. Sykes sings lyrics about singing along loudly to a happy song to feel better, giving a hint at the theme of depression on the album.

Just because Bring Me The Horizon hasn’t released an album since 2013 doesn’t mean they haven’t been busy; last year they released a successful single, “Drown,” which will now appear on That’s the Spirit. They also played a sold-out show at Wembley Arena in London, the recording of which will be released on July 27. A limited edition two CD/oneDVD of Bring Me The Horizon: Live At Wembley is also available through the band’s online store.

This year, following the release of the album, the band will be on tour in North America. From October 1-25, Bring Me The Horizon will perform in numerous cities across the United States and Canada in support of That’s the Spirit. See below for a full track listing of the upcoming album.
