Band in Seattle is a show that airs Saturday nights on Seattle’s local CW television channel. It showcases artists performing in Studio One at Victory Studios, where the show is produced. It has so far aired two seasons, and Pony Time and Blood Drugs both appeared on an episode in the second season.
The host and a knowledgeable guest begin the episode by introducing and talking about the artists who are set to perform. Pony Time, a duo from Seattle, is the first to perform on this episode. The garage rock band met and formed in 2009, and has since released three records. In addition to playing live music on Band in Seattle, Pony Time guitarist and vocalist Luke Beetham talks about his electric business, learning to play instruments and the story behind their track “Bad Behavior.” Drummer Stacy Peck talks about her job as a barista and her musical history as their performance of “Gary Numan” plays in the background. Over the course of their part of the episode, the two-piece rock band plays four songs and has screen time for about 11 minutes.
Blood Drugs, a four-piece punk band also from Seattle, played next. Each of the members also gets to talk about their lives outside of the band, how they all met and the meanings of some of their songs, including “Equerry.” The band is composed of Shawn Kock on guitar, Kyle Bradford on vocals, Kerry Zettel on bass and Thomas Burke on drums. They released an album via Good to Die Records in April 2015, featuring 10 tracks. Blood Drugs has about 10 minutes of screen time total, and the show is wrapped up by the host and guest, clocking in around 22 minutes total.
