Pure Bathing Culutre will release their new album in October of this year. Pray for Rain is the second album from the band. The new album can be pre-ordered through iTunes. The title single from the album “Pray for Rain” is an echoing a theme on the process of change and transition and about how the band itself is confidently taking a step up to the next level and finding their footing.
“We needed to make a big step and our version of that was to cut the cord from our previous albums,” Hindman said of the process, then confesses: “I was nervous all the way through. It was nerve-wracking and almost antagonizing at times.”
The song was about discovery as both the band and as the individuals who identify themselves as the collective group. It is about discovering a path on how their music is part of their life and what makes bits and pieces of their songs as inspiration pieces for how the band has overcome their shyness and unfamiliarity with promoting themselves as one complete unit. The song uses melodic pieces of guitar and soft sung lyrics to follow the hidden feelings of nervousness and excitement that everyone in the group has felt on their journey in making the album. Such a big accomplishment should be rewarded with the band’s upcoming tour dates to be listed in the upcoming months following their release of the album.
To promote their new album, Pure Bathing Culture will kick off their headline dates in Seattle and hit major markets across the U.S. and Canada including New York City, Philadelphia, Toronto, Montreal, Washington DC, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. PBC will be joined by indie pop act & fellow Portland residents, Wild Ones. The band will also perform in late August at MusicfestNW.
