Deradoorian, the solo project of Dirty Projector’s ex-bassist Angel Deradoorian, has released a new single off of her debut album The Expanding Flower Planet, out August 21st via Anticon.
As a member of Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks, Deradoorian has caught herself in similar sound with “The Eye,” for it is just as upbeat and idiosyncratic as songs off of Enter the Slasher House, with the hints of Krautrock’s rhythmic motirik influence that she has previously spoken about.
“The Expanding Flower Planet is an album, a song, a cosmic ideal, and a form of psychic expansion and expanded capability. It’s original and personal. It transmutes ethereal abstractions into crystalline harmonies and sinuous grooves. It’s music nurtured with the idea of healing, exciting, inspiring, enlightening. Drones, dissonance, warmth and love,” said the artist in a recent press release for the upcoming album.
