Lenny Kravitz has announced a handful of tour dates this summer/fall. Kravitz is currently touring throughout Europe, including a few festival gigs, but will kick things off here in the US in late August, when he’ll head out on a 12-stop tour back home. You can catch the legend himself at The Mann Center on August 30th. The rare headlining appearance is in support of his 10th studio album, Strut, which was released in September of last year.
Lenny Kravitz may be on his 10th studio album, but the man’s appeal has not slowed down a bit. His most recent release was named one of Rolling Stone‘s Top 50 Albums of 2014. The album as been praised for its “funky after-hours grooves and soulful hooks.” For a taste of that, you can check out his recently released NSFW video for the song “The Pleasure and The Pain.” Strut was the first release on Kravitz’s own Roxie Records. And the talented multi-hyphenate wrote all but one of the songs, “Ooo Baby Baby,” which owes its lyrics to Smokey Robinson and Warren “Pete” Moore.
A Sunday night show at The Mann is the perfect way to enjoy the end of the summer season. Just remember, this show is a rain or shine event. So if you plan to grab lawn tickets, you’ll want to keep your eyes tuned to the weather forecast. Either way, Lenny Kravitz is guaranteed to put on an exceptional show this August. You can catch his daughter, Zoë, a week later when she performs at this year’s Made in America Festival with her band Lolawolf.
