Civil Twilight @ Parish 9/23

Civil Twilight is a rock band from Cape Town, South Africa. Brothers Andrew and Steven McKellar were raised in a musical family, which carried through to high school for the two. Andrew launched a band with his classmate, drummer Richard Wouters, and soon recruited Kevin Dailey as keyboardist. This four-piece group transformed from amateurs to professionals shortly after beginning. Civil Twilight is said to provide classic song craft and passionate vocals in each of their songs.

Their self-titled debut album was released in 2010 with an alternative and classic rock influence. The record is compared to a U2 and Muse sound, which gained high ratings from critics. With a total of seven charts on Billboard, their record, Holy Weather, placed at #3 on the Heatseekers Albums chart. With constant TV features, songs from Civil Twilight are a favorite for alternative music fans.

Recently, the band released a single called “Story Of An Immigrant,” saying “this song both lyrically and musically seemed to set the course for the new music we were writing.” Their third album, with the same name as the singlewas released in July of 2015. The passion through Civil Twilight’s work reflects the band, journey, and story of their lives.
