The American heavy rock legends Lamb of God have released the audio from their fourth track from their soon to be released album, VII: Sturm Und Drang. You can listen to “Embers”, featuring Chino Moreno from the Deftones below.
“Embers” opens fairly calmly for a Heavy rock song, featuring a simple drum and guitar loop that repeats a bit before increasing in volume, then repeats some more before the vocals begin and the song erupts into all the fury you can expect from a Lamb of God song. “Gather the bones and lay them in the Sun” is probably close to the most explosive opening lines to any song, and perfectly fits this particular songs aesthetic. It’s impressive to have a line that is both powerful and relevant as a songs opener. “Embers” continues to impress as the song transitions into it’s equally as powerful chorus, with an opening line of “And the embers remain, refusing to fade”. After, the song allows a brief respite of before picking back up again seconds later for another chorus. Fading out for a bit after that, “Embers” makes you think it’ll relent, but never does, opening back up with a powerful scream that resonates through the listener. “Embers” is a song that grabs the listener at the start, and doesn’t let go until the very end.
Lamb of God recently released a music video for “Overlord” another song off of their upcoming album, VII: Sturm Und Drang. You can check that out on mxdwn
