JR JR, The Indie Pop band from Detroit (Formerly Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.) announced that they’ll be releasing their fourth and self-titled album. This comes just days after they shortened their name, which was kind of a bummer to the real Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Along with the album announcement, JR JR also released a new single from that album. “Gone” is an upbeat song, opening with light whistling before the vocals come in with “I’ve made up my mind / over and over”. “Gone” is fairly calm at first, then around forty seconds in, the drums kick in and give the song a kick of energy. “Gone” is overall just a great sounding song, and a good choice for a single. “Gone” is the bands first new song since their mid 2014 release “James Dean”, which will also be on their new album. Between “James Dean” and “Gone”, JR JR’s self titled album is shaping up to be an enjoyable release. So far both songs are upbeat, but in their own way, “James Dean” features a resounding harmony and R&B style beat, while “Gone” is a fun, whistle filled song that can easily be enjoyed by fans of any genre.
