SoMo is an American R&B singer from Denison, Texas. He instantly caught the eye of the media after posting YouTube covers of Chris Brown, The Weeknd, and Drake. He independently released his first mixtape, My Life, which gained high popularity for the artist. Soon, he signed to Republic Records to begin a new chapter in his career.
Reflecting on his transition, SoMo says “I was having fun doing covers on YouTube…but I realized I could express myself through my own words — and people might listen.” Today, SoMo is a favorite by R&B fans across the country. His 2014 self-titled album reached #2 on both the digital and R&B charts on Billboard. The singer has also reached Platinum certification on his song “Ride.” He ends on the note, “Nowadays, people listen with their eyes too much. They should just appreciate the music for what it is.”
SoMo will bring Jordan Bratton on The Fallin’ Up Tour this fall. Bratton is described to create the sound of “Alternative R&B.” This young artist takes pride in his self-produced mixtape, The Grey Area. With large percussion beats and and effortless talent, the two will take the stage in Austin this November.
