Keys N Krates is an electronic band who formed in 2008 from Toronto, Canada. Unlike other EDM artists, this group brings instruments to life on stage. With a drummer, keyboardist, and international award winning turntablist, they are described as the world’s only “trap band.” Members describe their unique sound as “referencing everything from classic house music to Timbaland in our beats.” Shortly after beginning, the group soon gained support from artists Steve Aoki and Diplo.
Their first EP, Blackout, was issued in 2012 through Aoki’s Dim Mak label. Their most popular song, “Dum Dee Dum,” reached #17 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Song chart. The trio’s hard-hitting percussion instantly turns listeners into fans. Their latest EP, Every Nite, was just released in 2014, bringing hype to electronic enthusiasts of all types.
Keys N Krates has played events such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, and TomorrowWorld, along with their own headlining tours. The band strives to connect with their audience, saying “our favorite thing is playing live and bringing people into our world.” With electronic instruments, the group performs each of their beats live on stage.
