Qello is now streaming Skin It Back, a recording of a live performance by rock band Little Feat in Germany.
Little Feat was formed in 1969 in Los Angeles, California. Skin It Back was originally performed and recorded in 1977 at Rockpalast in Essen, Germany. The band opens with the title track and continuously plays for a little over an hour, with instrumental jams in between songs linking them all seamlessly. Skin It Back was originally available on DVD in 2009, but now you can watch it at a moment’s notice.
In 2000, Little Feat released a DVD called Rockpalast Live that featured the July 1977 performance, including 11 songs and a bonus live performance of a song at the Pinkpop Festival in Holland in 1976. The Skin It Back DVD also includes about 30 minutes of rehearsal versions, some of which didn’t make it into the full live show. Skin It Back was also recorded just before Little Feat’s first live album, 1978’s Waiting For Columbus.
