Primitive Race has released music video for their song “Follow The Leader.” It is their first single from the band’s upcoming self-titled album. Band founder and bassist Chris Kniker states “really captures the back handed meaning of Primitive Race”. Primitive Race’s black & white video corresponds to the lyrical theme presented about how the corporate elite will dictate their rule and force their terms upon the little people: the working class and urban poor.
“‘Follow the Leader’ is more about the dumb people that follow our leaders, unquestioning and and without thought, than the leaders themselves. In the UK a plutocratic system of government has somehow managed to prevail where we are governed by the rich (the rich are not just from one party anymore either) who act for the rich – a small minority of the population, yet the not so well off allow it to happen. Soundbites like ‘we are all in it together,’ which is blatantly untrue, are enough to get the public to follow blindly and give these crooks the votes they need to get their dirty deeds done,” Graham Crabb of Pop Will Eat Itself
The video shows the prominent problem of politics and money that go hand in hand. Those who are rich will grow richer, the poor will become poorer. Showing old video of the Japanese and German military shot in WWII, the question of who will rise into power and where should the power be more prominent also pose as a big question. “Politics needs to be on the school carriculum – compulsory. Personal and public finance too,” said Graham Crabb who will add the lyrics and vocals. Other artists will appear on the track: Mark Gemini Thwaite (Peter Murphy, The Mission UK), Erie Loch (Blowload, Exageist), and Kniker. The video was directed by Dustin Ferguson. Pre-orders for Primtive Race are available via Metropolis Records’ website and Bandcamp; the album will be released worldwide August of this year.
