Cloud Nothings’ Dylan Baldi and Wavves’ Nathan Williams have come together to collaborate on a new single, “No Life For Me.” The single is off of the duo’s upcoming collaborative LP No Life For Me.
The single “No Life For Me” serves as an eye opener for what the new LP has in store for fans. On the surface, the song seems very light. It has a catchy tune that really carries the vocals over the driving force of the of the steady drum beats. On further review, the true depth of the song is revealed. Focusing in on the repetition of the lines, “My energy/ My energy is/ My long to be here,” the mantra contains a hint of desperation that helps to decode what is really going on in this track.
While the other tracks of the songs have yet to be released, it seems that Baldi and Williams experiences with Cloud Nothings and Wavves were drawn on to create an intense album by the duo.
No Life For Me has 9 tracks that mesh together to sounds of the two beloved bands. According to Pitchfork, the album will come out sometime this year via Ghost Ramp.
