Slayed at Mayhem Fest – Slayer, Whitechapel, King Diamond and More

Day 2 of the Mayhem Festival tour was held on June 27 in “the middle of fucking nowhere” (as described by Tom Araya of Slayer) at the San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino, Calif. It was a full day of metal starting on the smaller second stage with Code Orange, Shattered Sun, Sworn In, Sister Sin, Jungle Rot, and Art is Murder. MXDWN was able to see Tennessee based death metal band Whitechapel, the hauntingly creepy gorecore Kissing Candice, and Australian metalcore band Feed Her to the Sharks on the Victory Records stage and Christian metal band The Devil Wears Prada, metal supergroup Hellyeah, King Diamond who played on an elaborate set full of staircases and crosses and gargoyles, and headliners Slayer on the Rockstar Energy Drink Main Stage.
