Disclosure is on the verge of releasing their sophomore release later this year. In what is the second single release off of the record, Disclosure has released a video for their single “Holding On,” the first volume of a series of videos that involve a longer narrative.
With the recent announcement that their second record, Caracal, will be out in September, Disclosure has been releasing a string of singles to promote the new record. The initial release off of the new record was the catchy track “Bang That”, and the follow-up to the track is the new video for their single “Holding On.” The video is set in Mexico City at some futuristic point where robotic drones comb the city, searching for local criminals, and the police department consists of a wide series of androids who are able to run complex face scans to determine guilt. The video centers one one particular woman who has been chosen by some sort of underground organization. Her job is to be the bearer of “The Ink,” a tattoo that contains some degree of supernatural powers. The video is meant to be a part of a larger narrative, which will be revealed in more detail in a couple of videos to be released in the future. There are a lot of questions that the video for “Holding On” doesn’t quite answer, but it’s safe to assume that these questions will be answered in the future videos.
Disclosure has been making news lately, but not as much for their musical abilities. They have come under a bit of controversy after SBTRKT have been lobbing criticism against Disclosure for allegedly copying his music.
Caracal will be released on September 25th.
