English band The Libertines have announced that they will be releasing their first new album in 11 years. The new album has been titled Anthems For Doomed Youth, and it will be released on September 4th, 2015, on the label, Harvest Records.
Anthems For Doomed Youth is the long awaited follow-up to the band’s self titled album, which came out in 2004, according to Pitchfork.
The BBC Radio 1 program Annie Mac exclusively premiered “Gunga Din,” the first single – and first music video – from this yet-to-be-released album by The Libertines. The band had previously performed this new song at recent shows, including at this year’s Glastonbury festival.
Roger Sargent directed the music video for “Gunga Din.” The video was filmed on location on Walking Street in Pattaya, Thailand, according to a press release. Walking Street is a red-light district that has become a hub of nightlife activity for foreign visitors and Thai nationals, alike, as the street and surrounding areas feature restaurants, sports and beer bars, live music venues, go-go bars, and discotheques.

In addition to taping their music video in Thailand, The Libertines also recorded the Jake Gosling-produced Anthems For Doomed Youth album at Karma Sound Studios, Thailand, over the course of 6 weeks during April and May 2015.
Anthems For Doomed Youth will be released in several different formats including, a deluxe CD, 12” vinyl, and in standard and deluxe digital formats. Lastly, the album becomes available to pre-order within the U.S. on July 24th, 2015.
