After a stand-out performance at Firefly Festival, Glass Animals will be headed back to our area to take the stage at Union Transfer. The British indie-pop group have been making a name for themselves this summer, with a raved about performance at this year’s Coachella, as well as a slew of sold out tour dates. If you didn’t have a chance to check them out at one of their various festival stops this year, you’ll want to catch them when they continue the fun on the road this fall.
Glass Animals will take over Union Transfer on Monday, August 10th and tickets are on sale now. At the rate at which their spring tour sold out, fans of these rising stars will need to act quickly if they want to catch the guys live. And a rising talent they are, having released their debut album just one year ago.
Zaba, their debut, dropped on June 17th in the US via Harvest Records. But it was their track “Black Mambo,” previously released on the band’s EP Leaflings that attracted attention. Certainly touring with acts like Yeasayer and St. Vincent helped to broaded their appeal. But its their unique sound, described as “psychedelic indie pop” that sets them apart from much of the other young bands vying for our attention. And if their festival performances have been any indication, the guys behind Glass Animals will be a must-see when they roll into town this August.
