Grouplove is one of a few artists selected to contribute a track to the soundtrack for the new film Paper Towns. For their contribution, the Nineties-tinged pop single “No Drama Queen,” Grouplove have released a new music video to accompany the single.
Over the last couple of years, Grouplove have been lauded as an underrated group, at least by the traditional standards of the word “underrated.” With the release of their 2013 record, Spreading Rumours, the group began to really hit its stride. For their latest commercial release, Grouplove has once again taken to the film industry as they have released a new video for “No Drama Queen,” a track that will be featured on the film release of Paper Towns. The video celebrates the fantastic atmosphere that occurs when friends get together and have a good time. It depicts several different people of different generations singing a karaoke version of “No Drama Queen,” dancing about the room as if the room wasn’t going to be there the next day. The video also features brief snippets of scenes from Paper Towns that have been featured in the trailer. The film released in theaters about a week an a half ago and follows the story of a young man who begins searching for his childhood crush who has gone off on her own, running away from her circumstances for a while on a journey of self-discovery.
This isn’t the first time that Grouplove has contributed to a film soundtrack. They also contributed a track to the 2014 film The Fault In Our Stars. Grouplove will also be key feature in this year’s Float Fest, which will also feature Portugal, The Man.
