Lauryn Hill MTV Unplugged Now Available To Stream On Qello

R&B singer Lauryn Hill’s appearance on MTV Unplugged in 2001 can now be seen on streaming service Qello.

The performance was recorded at MTV Studios in New York in July 2001 and eventually became a live album entitled MTV Unplugged No. 2.0. The Qello stream runs just over an hour and 45 minutes, with about 13 total tracks. Rather than a hip-hop or R&B sound, the MTV Unplugged recordings feature Hill performing folk songs while playing acoustic guitar.

In between songs, Hill gives speeches and explanations about the music she has written and chosen to perform. Most of the songs feature Hill’s thoughts and feelings on religion, love and other personal subjects. This is due to the fact that almost all of the songs were written by Hill, with the exception of one traditional adaptation of a song and one track written by Bob Marley.

Qello is the largest online streaming service for music documentaries and other music-related entertainment, like this recording of Lauryn Hill on MTV Unplugged. To see this and many other live shows and music documentaries, subscribe to Qello.
