Ozzy Osbourne is working on forming a new supergroup with bassist Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath and guitarists Slash of Guns N’ Roses and Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine.
The supergroup, which hasn’t yet found a drummer, is planning to play at the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in New Orleans, according to Paste Magazine. They will be playing overseas in the next few months, but the Halloween performance would be their first live show in North America.
Osbourne’s Ozzfiesta, which was meant to take place May 27-31 this year, had to be cancelled due to Osbourne needing surgery in May and needing time to heal following it. His Ozzfest in Japan will take place November 21 and 22, but rather than a Black Sabbath performance at the festival, Osbourne will instead perform “with friends.”
Tom Morello is one of many artists, including Serj Tankian, to be featured on Immortal Randy Rhoads – The Ultimate Tribute, an album for the legendary guitarist. Morello also collaborated with Wu-Tang Clan’s GZA on a track called “The Mexican,” and worked with Future User, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson on a track entitled “Voodoo.”
