Leon Bridges was here for a performance back in May that many Philadelphians probably missed. The soul singer performed as part of WXPN’s Non-Comm festival. Fans have been eager for another opportunity to catch the rising star and he has finally announced an upcoming tour that will bring him back to our area this fall. You can see him when he takes the stage at Union Transfer on October 17th. Tickets go on sale tomorrow (6/19) at noon.
Leon Bridges will release his highly-anticipated debut album, Coming Home, in just a few days. The album, which drops on June 23rd will feature some tracks we’ve already heard like “River,” and “Better Man.” These tracks along with songs “Coming Home” and “Lisa Sawyer” have already cemented Bridges as a must-see act of the year, garnering him much critical acclaim for his timeless sound.
The breakout star wowed audiences at this year’s SXSW festival and has gone on to capture the ears of even more fans as they hear his tracks which have drawn comparisons to the likes of Same Cooke. Opening for Leon Bridges when he takes the stage this October will be Colombian singer/songwriter Kali Uchis. She released her first solo project, Por Vida, in February of this year.
