WATCH: Icona Pop Release New Video For “Emergency”

Icona Pop, the singing duo Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, had their number one hit “I Love It” last year that has been used in almost every commercial from shoes to Special K cereal. But now they have new song and its called “Emergency”. “Emergency” is one of the songs on their newest EP with guest vocals from Erik Hassle. The music video is what the Rolling Stone calls goofy revival through dance. The singing duo are at it again with drop down beats that include a frenetic piano and muted brass.

Icona Pop are brought back to life through dance – literally – in their goofy clip for new single “Emergency.” The video, directed by Christian Larson with fashion styling from B. Åkerlund, opens with the Swedish electro-pop duo (Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo) in body bags. But their song’s swinging, big-band groove revives them for a glammy zombie dance party. -Ryan Reed for Rolling Stone

The new EP and the single “Emergency” will be out June 10 of this year. The Swedish singers are also offering a link to a clothing website for people who are interested in some of the clothing apparels they wear throughout the video. WHOYOUARE is an artist collaboration website where people can buy some of the clothing that many artists will often have on sale that were featured in a music video. However, you might want to save up for these nice rags because the price is a little high.

Following the success of “I Love It” and their 2013 debut LP, This Is… Icona Pop, the duo landed gigs opening for Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry. Last year, the group released the single “Get Lost” and collaborations with Tiesto (“Let’s Go”) and Cobra Starship (“Never Been In Love”). Now the two female singers will open for One Direction July 19th of this year promoting their new album in twenty-three North American stadiums. The tour starts in San Diego and will continue with scheduled shows well into mid-September.
