The Orb is coming out with new album called Moonbuilding 2703 AD. The new album will come out June 23 of this year via Kompakt. A deluxe edition pf the new album includes a tribute to J Dilla titled “Dilla’s Moon Quake”. Due to the release of the new album the band has decided to annouce the Fall 2015 touring dates to promote the new album and its five minute condensed version, called the meltdown edit, has been previously released. The pioneering electronic act have just announced a North American tour for September which includes two NYC shows: Music Hall of Williamsburg on 9/10 and Bowery Ballroom on 9/11 and those tickets go on sale Friday June 19 but have been on sale today since noon. Alex Paterson and Thomas Fehlmann are the two men who make up the band, went on a musical adventure to make this lengthy album with songs that are each range from ten minutes long or over. For those who have purchased both versions of the new album can also get some bonus tracks of the works that the band has done.
“It’s a solid piece of music that mutates into an eight legged lunar Land Rover and takes off into a cosmic horizon of a million sounds, patterns and textures. It spins the listener on his/her head, rewiring their brains to maximum capacity, then brings them home, sweet home,” said Alex Paterson.
