Sammy Adams is an American rapper from Boston, Massachusetts. Starting music at a young age, Adams would improvise on his piano creating beats and melodies. He began songwriting in high school, but had no intentions of becoming a rapper. This changed in college where he started to make music on his laptop. Although he is a rapper today, he takes influence from rock, blues, and classical music. His ability to cross genres has allowed him to experiment in all types of music.
Adams became an internet star in 2009 when he made the song, “I Hate College,” in response to Asher Roth’s song, “I Love College.” His first album, Boston’s Boy, debut as #1 on the iTunes hip-hop chart in the first week of its release. His EP, Homecoming, later reached #5 under Billboard’s rap albums.
In his career, Adams has released four mixtapes and two EPs. He has collaborated with artists such as Taylor Swift, Mike Posner, and Enrique Iglesias. His multiple talents have proven his skills as a performer. Adams is known for interacting with the crowd to create high energy in his shows. He will begin his latest tour this summer.
