Rock group Titus Andronicus announced that they will be hitting the road this fall.
The announcement of this tour comes about a month after the band announced that they will be releasing a highly-anticipated new album, The Most Lamentable Tragedy, in July. It is the group’s third studio album, following 2008’s The Airing of Grievances, 2010’s The Monitor, and Local Business, which was released in 2012.
The Most Lamentable Tragedy features a cohesive central narrative that was largely created by Titus Andronicus frontman and songwriter Patrick Stickles. It centers on a main protagonist, who is on a large transformative journey that reveals much about his character to the audience. This narrative could not be condensed into a single disc, without losing portions of the rich story development. So, the album has expanded into a 2 disc cd set, a three-disc vinyl LP set, or a digital download featuring all of the 29 songs.
Looking ahead at the upcoming tour dates, Titus Andronicus will play a series of sold out shows on July 24th-28th, 2015, at Brooklyn’s Shea Stadium. Then, they have a month off, before kicking off the North American leg of their fall tour with a concert in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on September 11th. The tour will take the band on an adventure that will crisscross the U.S., hitting a number of major cities, and playing multiple dates in Texas and California. Additionally, the tour will extend up into Canada with the band announcing they will be giving concerts in Vancouver, Toronto, and Montréal.
And, when the North American leg wraps up on October 15th in Boston, Massachusetts, Titus Andronicus has a few weeks off, before their European tour starts. The European leg includes multiple shows across the United Kingdom, but the band will also be making stops in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, before the tour concludes with a concert at The Hangar in Dublin, Ireland, on the 22nd of November 2015. Check out a complete listing of currently announced tour dates, below.
“[Titus Andronicus] has been hiding away for too long,” frontman Stickles said in a press release. “It’s time to get back out there—to take what is ours, and remind everyone why we have been champions of the stage for ten years.”
The Most Lamentable Tragedy, the new album by Titus Andronicus, is out on July 28th, 2015.
