After a successful full length set at the 2014 Housecore Horror Film Festival, American metal band Superjoint – formerly known as Superjoint Ritual – have announced that they will be embarking on a tour for the first time in over a decade.
The upcoming Superjoint tour was put together by frontman Philip H. Anselmo’s label Housecore Records, and will “ravage its way through thirteen US cities,” according to a press release. Additionally, this tour features the current lineup of the band.
As of 2015, Superjoint is the aforementioned frontman Anselmo, who is best known for his work with Pantera, Down, and his own band Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals; guitarist Kevin Bond of Christ Inversion and Artimus Pyledriver; guitarist Jimmy Bower of Down and Eyehategod; drummer José Manuel Gonzalez, who is known for his work with Warbeast and Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals; and, the lineup is rounded out by bassist Stephen Taylor of Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, Woven Hand, and 16 Horse Power.
Currently, the “It Takes Guts” summer takeover tour begins on July 10th, 2015, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and will wrap up in Shreveport, Louisiana, on July 25th. But, a press release notes that more dates are to be announced in the coming weeks; so, we will be updating to bring you the most up to date concert information, as we receive it.
On the summer trek, Superjoint will be joined by Australian grind band King Parrot, and American punk metal/noise rockers Child Bite. Both of these support bands are signed to Housecore Records.
In a press release, Anselmo commented, “We’re touring with SUPERJOINT again, because we feel like it, it’s fun, and we’re handsome. And the big plus here is getting to tour with King Parrot and Child Bite, as they are handsome fellows also as well as live forces to be reckoned with. Leave your corpse paint at home. No image required for this one. Bring a date and some sips, and let the music do the rest! Hail Columbia!”
