LISTEN: Teenage Time Killers Release New Song “Ode To Sean Hannity” Featuring Jello Biafra

The ferocious metal rockers, Teenage Time Killers have joined forces with Noisey to released their newest fire, “Ode To Sean Hannity” featuring Jello Biafra. The supergroup and featured artists on the album are apart of some of the greatest 80’s rock bands in history! Just to name a few apart of the experimental rock fusion: Mick Murphy (co-founder of TTK, My Ruin, The Birds Of Satan/Chevy Metal/ Neanderthal), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters/ Nirvana), Greg Anderson (Goatsnake/Sunn O))), Pat Smear (Foo Fighters/Nirvana/Germs), Pete Stahl (Scream/Goatsnake), Mike “IX” Williams (Eyehategod), Randy Blythe (Lamb of God), Tairrie B. Murphy (The Ruin) with some feminine flare and so many more. In early May, the heavy hitters dropped “Barrio” with Matt Skiba (Alkaline Trio) on the vocals and Brian Baker (Minor Threat/Bad Religion) on the hype riffs. Amongst other single releases from the Teenage Time Killers forthcoming twenty-four track new album, Greatest Hits Vol. 1 includes “Hung Out to Dry”.

TTK’s “Ode To Sean Hannity” gives an epic introduction with what sounds like someone flipping through different stations filled with antagonistic politics on a vintage radio. Paying tribute to the 80’s style of political expression in modern day is rock appreciation. The knob stops on a very immensely-driven escalating vocal clamor from vocalist Jello Biafra. Midway through the 1:26 length song, Biafra does this whirling melody from a classic rock run and by the time the song ends you are still stunned it happened. It is intentionally “Bla, Bla, Bla!” as the song gives reference to it’s purpose “Intellectual insanity, Fox noise insanity, your profanity!”. The incredibly smashing and intense song should be placed on repeat; you’ve been warned. A persistent rock chant for sanity of “Hannity! Hannity!”. It’s boisterous, thrashing and pretty damn raw.

Drummer for Corrosion Of Conformity and co-founder of the Teenage Time Killers, Reed Mullin shares insight on how “Ode To Sean Hannity” came to flourishing:

I saw John Cleese from Monty Python on an episode of Keith Olbermann’s old MSNBC show a couple years back, where he happened read his poem ‘Ode to Sean Hannity’ aloud. It was fucking hilarious—the rhythm, or cadence rather, and biting political comedy sounded just like a song Jello & the Dead Kennedys would have written back in the old days.

So, when we were getting our original 5 songs together for what later turned into Teenage Time Killers, I put Cleese’s poem to music, asked Jello to sing it, he said ‘yes’ and the rest is history.

The Teenage Time Killers’ debut studio album Greatest Hits Vol. 1 with On Rise Records will drop this summer on July 31, 2015. Pre-order on TTK or itunes.
