After quite a few efforts and a great deal of suspense, Telephathe, the insanely talented elecronic pop duo, will be releasing their sophomore album, Destroyer. Fans have patiently awaited this album release, and will finally be able to listen.
Busy Gangnes and Melissa Livaudais, the two musicians who encompass the heart of Telepathe, have been striving to perfect Destroyer since 2012 when the pair moved into an apartment on Sunset Boulevard to begin recording and multiple attempts to release the final product. This highly-anticipated release is an outgrowth of their esteemed album, Dance Mothers, released in 2009.
Gangnes and Livaudais sum up their trials and errors with, “[We] had attempted to release Destroyer a couple of times during the last two years, but the process was delayed by industry and label politics.” Co-produced with Lewis Pesacov and mixed by Matty Green, the album will be released via Telepathe’s label, BZML, on August 7th, 2015.
The two feel that it this upcoming August is not just the right time, but the prime time to leak the masterpiece that has been so long-awaited.The sound of Destroyer pulls inspiration from some of Madonna’s early work mixed with freestyle Miami beats.
