Have you ever wanted one of your dreams to be manifested in a real life setting? Well, for the extremely low price of $10,000 (yes! only ten-thousand dollars) DIIV will make your dreams come true.
DIIV has launched a kickstarter containing three spots for fans to see their dreams become a reality for Houseworld. For $10,000 dollars each the three well-off fans will clinch their respective spots, and the concept is a pretty cool one once you get past the seemingly astronomical price tag. DIIV will take the money from the Kickstarter and put it towards Houseworld. The three $10,000 donators will describe their dream to Houseworld, and in turn the Houseworld cast will reenact said dream. The trailer for Houseworld features a man in a bathtub (who goes by the affectionate title of Bathtub Guru) and two other characters by the names of the wind and Amaya, but Houseworld is a mansion where thirty guests enter one-by-one into a lucid dream. In this lucid dream the different characters mentioned each play a part of the human psyche. House world was created by artist Andrew Hoepfner, and can be seen by those in the general New York City area willing to hop over to Brooklyn. In the past the event was invite only, but DIIV is aiming to make this a long-running event for public consumption.
In regards to the price tag, DIIV took to twitter to explain the reasoning behind it. It’s not necessarily for the group, but the funding will go to production cost ( i.e. venue rental, lighting, paying of cast members ((most specifically Bathtub Guru)), and promotion. Houseworld is trying to raise $30k. $10k may seem absurd for us to re-enact yr dream, but its more an investment in making Houseworld (1/2)

(2/2) open and available to the public. it was more a publicity grab to draw attention to Houseworld than us thinking our time is worth $10k
