Jenny Lewis released a new video this year. The recent video parodies Lewis’ child-actor past and also features Fred Armisen, Zosia Mamet, Leo Fitzpatrick, Feist, and Vanessa Bayer. Her other video “Just One of The Guys” featured close friends Anne Hathway, Brie Larson, Kristen Stewart, and Tennessee Thomas as her band. The video was uploaded to Buzzfeed’s web page on YouTube.
While both songs may be catchy and her latest video shows Lewis wearing a colorful white suit, sitting behind bars, or even holding a plastic toy gun to a stuffed toy’s head, it does not deter form the new album coming out this year titled, The Voyager. It has received the ‘Best of 2014’ award in according with several music magazines like Rolling Stone, TIME, NPR, Spin, Billboard, The Guardian, American Songwriter, Stereogum, Paste, and many more. The article from Warner Brother Records (WBR), says that her first solo album has been big hit in the music industry. The Voyager has given local L.A.-based singer-songwriter her first Top 10 album and highest chart debut yet. So everyone is pretty psyched to check out the Spring tour dates, an extended edition to her previous Fall tour. jenny Lewis’ newest album places her at No. 9 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart. “She’s Not Me” and “Just One of the Guys” appeared on Year End Top Songs lists from The New York Times, Slant, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, Pitchfork, and more.
Jenny Lewis can be anything, former child-actor or a successful musician, but this album is probably going to go fast off the shelves once it hits stores after her Spring tour. Lewis’ tour of North America has added three new dates to support her album The Voyager: August 16th at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, OR, and August 25th and 26th at the Observatory in Santa Ana, which will wrap up the tour. Tickets go on sale this Friday.
