One of the biggest festivals of the year just unleashed its first round of artists. This year’s Riot Fest & Carnival features big names such as Faith No More, Snoop Dogg, Billy Idol, Motorhead, Iggy Pop and Modest Mouse, among many others. Take a look at the full lineup below.
Riot Fest & Carnival will be held this September 11 until September 13. The 2015 event takes place in Chicago at Douglas Park. You can buy the first set of three-day passes right here.
What makes this year’s event stand out is the inclusion of several special performances. At least five of the bands set to perform at the festival have announced they will perform their seminal albums in their entirety.
Snoop Dogg will perform his album Doggystyle, while Ice Cube will perform Straight Outta Compton Remix with a few special guests. You won’t want to miss these performances.
In addition to hip-hop legends, iconic punk bands will join the lineup for a performance of their own greatest albums. Rancid is set to perform …And Out Come The Wolves, and The Academy Is… will play Almost Here for the festival. The special performances close out with a rendition of The Dwarves’ Blood, Guts And Pussy.
While the album renditions at this year’s festival are some of the most-anticipated acts, fans also get to experience bands who rarely perform. Some of the bands who have recently reunited, and have sets lined up for the festival, include Drive Like Jehu, Faith No More, L7, Babes in Toyland and Alexisonfire.
The festival has more than just music. When you buy a three-day pass, you get access to a carnival, golf course, arcade and a show from animatronic band The Rock-afire Explosion.
This is just the first round of lineup announcements, so stay tuned here as the event announces more performers.
