Icona Pop released a new song titled “Emergency.” The duo released a teaser video via Twitter on May 21 announcing the official release.
The duo released a second teaser the second day which featured 12 seconds of “Emergency” with a short clip of the group dancing. The track is another upbeat, fast-paced single similar to Icona Pop’s previous hit from 2012, “I Love It.” “Emergency” features Swedish R&B singer Erik Hassle, who sings sweetly over the rhythmic pop beat. In between the short chorus like sections and ad-libs, a saxophone blares over the song serving the purpose of a bridge. The two minute 49 second song plays on an old school vibe and high energy.
While the release of this single has sparked buzz among Icona Pop fans, the group has not mentioned any details of a sophomore album. The duo’s debut album, This Is…Icona Pop was released in 2013.“Emergency” will go on sale starting May 26 via iTunes and it is currently available for streaming via SoundCloud. Any additional updates and information on Icona Pop can be found on the group’s official website.
