Grimes has announced that she is still working on her new album and it will be set for release sometime in October. According to Consequence Of Sound, Grimes had an album ready for release in 2014, but scrapped it once she decided it was too commercial.

The upcoming album will be Grimes fourth LP. Her last album, Visions was released in 2012. Grimes broke the news via Twitter on May 24, when eager fans asked the singer when they could expect the new album. Some of the Tweets between Grimes and fans can be viewed below.

At the moment Grimes has not released any clues on what fans can expect for the new album. The singles she released within the last year including “Go” and “REALiti” were from the album she scrapped. In her posts on Twitter, Grimes said that the music for this album will be different from any of the other material she has released previously. She also mentions that she wants to have a surprise release so fans can hear her music first.

Currently, Grimes is on tour with Lana Del Rey. Del Rey also recently announced that her new album, Honeymoon will be released in September. Any additional updates and information on Grimes can be found on her official website.
