NEW MUSIC ALERT: Rolo Tomassi Releases New Video For “Opalescent”

British mathcore band Rolo Tomassi have released a new music video for their track “Opalescent.”

The song appears on their upcoming U.S. debut album, Grievances, which will be released July 10 via Ipecac Recordings. The female-fronted group has already toured the U.S. with Jane’s Addiction and toured Europe with Dillinger Escape Plan. They will be touring Europe again in summer 2015, including some festival dates and several performances supporting Fall of Troy.

“Opalescent” focuses heavily on its instrumental components, with percussion at the front and center and guitar and keyboard droning constantly in the background. The vocals are soft and ethereal, complimenting the music and ensuring that the song isn’t overwhelming. Listen to the track and watch the new black-and-white video below.

Though Grievances will be Rolo Tomassi’s U.S. debut, they have already released three studio albums and a compilation since coming together as a group. Hysterics in 2008 and Cosmology in 2010 were both under Hassle Records, with the latter album being produced by Diplo. In 2011, the band created their own label called Destination Moon and released a compilation album of B-sides, remixes and rarities called Eternal Youth. Their third full album, 2012’s Astraea, featured the first time the line-up of Rolo Tomassi had changed.
