The entire world is periodically stopping to view the sweetest video capture of soulful vocalist and dynamic lyricist Ms. Lauryn Hill and her daughter as they gave a beautiful apology message to Nigeria. From her living room, Ms. Lauryn Hill with her background vocalists and seven year old little princess Sarah Marley gave an acoustic jam session while singing her timeless hit off the Miseducation album, “Doo Wop (That Thing)”. It’s completely normal if you had to watch at least four more times. According to The Fader , on last friday, May 1st, L. Boogie had to reschedule her highly anticipated MayDay Live performance in Lagos, Nigeria due to a few travel mishaps by the promoter.

In spite of the extended break for many years, Ms. Hill who is known for spreading consciousness and standing for human rights made headlining act for the Amnesty International Concert along side the Flaming Lips and Imagine Dragons. Ms. Hill also headlined the Electric Factory performing next to Talib Kweli and Kuf Knotz back in November 2014. Earlier this week, Ms. Hill had to cancel her Israel show upon a request by the Palestinians and her fans. She stated on Facebook, “When deciding to play the region, my intention was to perform in both Tel Aviv and Ramallah. Setting up a performance in the Palestinian Territory, at the same time as our show in Israel, proved to be a challenge. I’ve wanted very much to bring our live performance to this part of the world, but also to be a presence supporting justice and peace.”

Ms. Lauyrn Hill’s message via Facebook in regards to the cancellation of the Nigeria concert:

Hello Lagos, Nigeria!
We are disappointed to report that we will not be performing at tonight’s concert. From our end, we did everything we were supposed to do, including waiting at the airport for many hours, ready to fly out and share the evening with you. Unfortunately, after much effort, the promoter was not able to get all of our travel arrangements taken care of. This prevented us from being able to fly into Nigeria in time to make the concert. We were all very excited to come, and very disappointed that we couldn’t make this one. HOWEVER, we are working to reschedule our appearance ASAP. From what we’ve been told, the promoter intends to honor all tickets sold. Our best to and for Lagos. Love and Blessings!
Ms. Lauryn Hill and the MLH band and Production Team.
