Adam Jones of Tool recently released a teaser of some possible band material via his Instagram account. This teaser may be the answer eager fans have been waiting for, especially since Jones mentioned that the band wanted to release a new album this year.
Tool’s last album, 10,000 Days was released in 2006. Some of the delays may be due to the multi-level lawsuit the group has been battling since 2007. In March, the group family won the lawsuit that has been plaguing them. Throughout this time, rumors of a new album have surfaced every now and again, but recently Jones has dropped some hints giving fans a little more hope. According to Spin, Jones shared a photo of him and producer Joe Barresi in the studio. The photo was captioned “A little taste ~ Mixing a would be jam.~ #Tool.” Now the new teaser seems to be another indicator that a new album may really be in the works.
While the clip is short, it contains what some are calling an “eerie” sound. The clip seems to have a little bit of a techno vibe behind it as well. According to Spin, there is no indication of whether or not this sounds from this short clip will actually end up in the final album. Despite this, Ultimate-Guitar claims that Tool’s newsletter confirms that the band has been in the studio.
